Urgency levels for ordering concentrated erythrocytes (CE)

- Only for patients in life danger
|
Urgent over the telephone (stage I over the telephone)
|
- Immediate issue of CE, when the patient's AB0 Rh D is known
- 5-10 minutes, when the patient's AB0, Rh D needs to be identified

- CE of the patient's or matching AB0, Rh D
|
- AB0, Rh D blood group of the patient and donors
- CM not completed
- ICT
|
- Prior to transfusion, it is mandatory that you check the patient's AB0, Rh D and that of the CE units issued.
- If the patient's condition allows it, wait until CM is completed (15 minutes).

Urgent (stage I) |
- 45 minutes after receiving a sample
|
- CE of the patient's or matching AB0, Rh D
|
|
- The sample of patient's blood takes advantage in testing.
- In case of positive CM, further tests (at least 30 to 60 minutes) and consulting are required
|
Not urgent |
- A few hours or until the next morning
|
- CE of the patient's or matching AB0, Rh D
|
